Mapera is seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and fast-learning Junior Software Engineer to join our growing technology team in Bangkok.
Mapera is a technology company focused on Local SEO and Google Business Profile management, and is the sister company of GVN Marketing, an established digital marketing agency based in Bangkok.
This position is directly with Mapera and will focus on developing and expanding the Mapera platform. You will work closely with our Senior Software Engineer using modern full-stack technologies, AI coding tools, agentic development workflows, and process automation.

Role Impact & Overview
As a Junior Software Engineer at Mapera, you will contribute directly to the development, testing, and implementation of new features across our proprietary Local SEO and Google Business Profile management platform.
Working under the direct guidance and mentorship of the Senior Software Engineer, you will write maintainable full-stack code, use AI coding assistants and agentic tools to accelerate development, and build automated scripts and workflows to improve platform operations.

Main Responsibilities
- Develop Features: Build and maintain responsive frontend interfaces and backend services for Mapera using Node.js frameworks such as Express, Next.js, or Nuxt.js and modern frontend frameworks such as React or Vue.js.
- Leverage AI & Agentic Tools: Actively use AI coding assistants, agentic development environments, and prompt techniques to write, debug, improve, and refactor code efficiently.
- Create Process Automations: Write automated scripts, background tasks, and data ingestion and processing workflows to streamline platform operations and routine engineering tasks.
- Assist with API Integrations: Support the integration and maintenance of third-party REST APIs, particularly Google Business Profile APIs and Google Maps APIs.
- Database Management: Write efficient SQL queries, manage database schema updates, and work with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL.
- Code Quality & Testing: Participate in peer code reviews, write unit and integration tests, and ensure code follows team standards and development best practices.
- Troubleshoot & Debug: Identify, debug, and resolve technical issues across the stack to maintain platform performance, security, and stability.
- Collaborate & Learn: Participate in daily standups, technical planning, and continuous learning under the mentorship of the Senior Software Engineer.
Qualifications
- Experience: 1 to 2 years of professional software development experience, or strong relevant internships and personal or open-source project portfolios in full-stack web engineering.
- Technical & Tool Skills:
- Solid foundation in JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js backend frameworks such as Express.js, Next.js, or Nuxt.js.
- Hands-on experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React or Vue.js.
- Good understanding of relational SQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar.
- Exposure to RESTful API development and consumption. Experience with Google APIs is a plus.
- AI & Agentic Programming: Hands-on familiarity with AI coding assistants and enthusiasm for learning agentic development workflows to improve development speed and code quality.
- Automation Skills: Experience writing scripts or automated workflows to automate repetitive tasks and processes.
- Language Proficiency: Exceptional communication and writing skills in both Thai and English, spoken and written.
- Domain Knowledge: Understanding of web fundamentals, including HTML5, CSS3, JSON, HTTP protocols, and basic software architecture principles.
- Mindset & Soft Skills: Eager to learn, proactive problem-solver, detail-oriented, adaptable, and a collaborative team player.
- Eligibility: Open to Thai nationals and qualified applicants based in Bangkok or ready to relocate to Bangkok.
